After meeting in 2006, Cat and James first began as friends, sharing each other's innermost thoughts, wildest dreams, and darkest fears. That turned out to be the perfect solid foundation.
One day, Cat had an epiphany: "James is smart... maybe we would be a good match."
She asked him to check out the Rain Room at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. After discovering that the wait would be over four hours, they made a spur-of-the-moment decision to go to Morimoto for dinner instead, followed by a sunset walk on The High Line.

One day, Cat had an epiphany: "James is smart... maybe we would be a good match."
She asked him to check out the Rain Room at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. After discovering that the wait would be over four hours, they made a spur-of-the-moment decision to go to Morimoto for dinner instead, followed by a sunset walk on The High Line.
Over that dinner—and many more meals after—they bonded over a shared love for food, travel, and art. After four years of globe-trotting, museum-touring, and adventure-seeking, it was clear they were on to something great. Together, they've explored over 20 states and 5 countries, side by side, one step at a time.

During Christmas 2016, James decided to surprise Cat with a trip to Paris to celebrate the New Year.
It was a very cold New Year's Eve, so they decided to have a low key celebration at their rental apt. They set up the wine, cheese, and snacks for 2017, and James asks: "What are your new year's resolutions?"... Little did he know, Cat would go into a serious talk about goals for 30 minutes. After her soliloquy ended, she asked, "So, what are your goals?"
